After almost five years of running our living ode to this website, the economic downturn and grinding hours finally took their toll. It was with a heavy heart that we closed our doors to the public on May 1st, 2009. Though we continue to occupy half the space, it is mainly for shipping and admin purposes, leaving behind the wonderful opportunities we've enjoyed to serve the Los Angeles population and beyond. Indeed, we were always impressed by how many great people would stop by on their way through town, taking time to chat and enjoy an espresso. We will certainly miss the interactions.

Unfortunately, our business model was never optimal to sustain the boutique without monthly infusions from our online store, hence when things went sour in the economic crisis beginning in mid-2008, our little shop simply couldn't move enough product to keep up. That, plus a senior care situation that had us dealing with Alicia's mother as she descended into severe dementia and advanced Parkinson's disease was simply too much to overcome as web sales flattened and the last holiday season turned tepid.

All that said, we continue to believe a store like ours has its place, albeit with a little more attention to bringing in revenue and serving higher numbers of people. Other stores have put themselves well on their way to providing upscale environments and educational components to make customers comfortable and willing to expand their horizons, sexually. Who knows, we may ourselves jump back into the retail arena if the right circumstances present themselves.

In summary, we think we created a place that was sexy, discreet, and fun and we had a blast no matter the outcome.
