Synopsis: "Fantasy Island"
meets XXX, complete with a little weirdness.
Our Review:
First, let us say that there's LOTS to love about this high
class title from Adam/Eve. The action is hot, the locations
stunning, and even the acting outside of the sex is
passable. Carmen Luvana, whose almost complete avoidance of her
Hispanic heritage almost always turns us off (what's with that
blonde hair?), manages to fit into the tropical theme nicely,
while veterans Tommy Gunn, Jean Val Jean, and Evan Stone keep
things moving through both their acting chops and amazing
swordsmanship. Ava Rose, who we've never seen before, does a
great impersonation of Scarlett Johanssen (if the Oscar nominee
were to do porn, that is).
The title begins with most of the
participants arriving on the mysterious island of "Mr. Xavier," having been
chosen from thousands of applicants. They are there to exercise their
fantasies and are mostly archetypes (Ava, the movie star, Tommy Gunn, the
bad boy, etc.) and reserved Carmen Luvana gets things going with a horseback
ride with Jean Val Jean, which quickly evolves into a sex scene by a tree
(with all the requisite positions). Courtney Cummz joins in half way through
and we have to say this was one of the best scenes in the entire video.
The following three scenes feature Carmen
Luvana on a yacht with "Jerry," Asian-looking Evan Valentine taking on Tommy
Gunn in the sand, while Ava Rose and Bree Olson discover their lesbian sides
at the pool. All three interludes are nicely shot and feature decent
chemistry (especially between Stone and Olson), which is about where we made
it on our first viewing before pausing to grab a few frames of our own.
The next evening, we resumed "Eden" just in
time to see Bree and Ava put in a decent girl/girl performance before Evan
Stone rescued Ava from a digitally inserted shark, then have sex with
Evan Valentine immediately afterward. Evan Stone, who once irritated us to
no end, has now become our favorite performer, giving yet another
unintentionally humorous take on fucking (watch it to see what we mean). And
so it goes on for another five scenes before finishing with the weirdest
cliffhanger you'll ever see, porn OR mainstream.
For the most part, we think this title puts
Adam/Eve in the same league with other large studios willing to put more
cash into their offerings and we commend the effort. This is a quality
production on par with the best efforts of Wicked and Digital Playground,
with a nod toward the latter in its similarity to Digital Playground's
Island Fever series.
The sex is very couples appropriate and even folks new to pornography should
find something appealing. There's only one scene containing anal and even
that's done quite tastefully.
In summation, we give "Eden" our highest
recommendation.
