By Freddy (aka Ian Denchasy)
As middle age begins its unstoppable advance, I am noticing not in big ways as I thought I might, but subtle, more nuanced differences. My eyesight, once fighter pilot capable, now requires me to stock up on 99 Cents Store spectacles to read even the largest text, for example, and my battle to keep my waistline within 34″ has taken on Spartan efforts. I once routinely worked out twice a day, starting with a 5am run to my gym, ending with a high intensity cardio session each evening. I have now let my gym membership expire and substitute long walks and the occasional game of paddle tennis instead. Even my sex drive, once fierce and seemingly infinite, has calmed to the point of two to three encounters per week being more than adequate.
I figured this was simply a natural progression as I approached the big five-o. Sure, we all see and hear about those rare individuals who, channeling their inner Jack LaLanne, manage to find the resolve and discipline to stay motivated into old age; however, I had found myself more content with a pint of Haagen Daas rum raisin ice cream and an ice cold IPA. Television was certainly more relaxing than huffing down to the gym after a long workday. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not unhealthy by medical standards; my weight is in normal range and my cholesterol and other physical measurements paint a stable picture.
What I soon would discover, after consulting with my doctor, was that I was experiencing symptoms of andropause, more commonly known as male menopause. My testosterone levels had dropped, which had caused my energy and concentration levels to drop, which in turn led to the symptoms I described at the beginning of this review. Luckily, I wasn’t so low as to require booster shots or pharmaceutical creams, but it was recommended that I seek out over the counter supplements that boost levels naturally and alter my diet (less rum raisin ice cream, more nuts and organic apples, etc.). So, being the diligent sort I am, I did some research, made a few calls to friends, and picked up a product called On for Him, by a company called Sensuva. They happened to also produce a lip balm we reviewed, so they were glad to send me a jar to try, no strings attached (as with all products we evaluate).
On for Him is a cream composed of popular ingredients (see full list at the end of this review), including tribulus terrestris, fenugreek, maca, saw palmetto, and others that one applies to hair free, clean areas of the skin once or twice daily. A small dollop is all that’s needed and it has a pleasant scent, probably due to the presence of primrose oil, and absorbs easily. I followed the directions and applied it each morning after waking up. I followed this once per day ritual for a week and experienced a definite bump in energy, most noticeable during my daily walks. I had, without thinking, added a pair of five pound dumbbells and found myself jogging the last mile each evening. With the increase in exercise, I found my diet had adjusted and improved, and my overall alertness increased. As an example of how much more energy I was feeling, I finally undertook the overhaul of this very website after procrastinating for almost three years.
Sexually, I can’t specifically point to On for Him as being the primary motivating factor in the restoration of my flagging libido; I instead believe this is a byproduct of getting up off my lazy ass and putting in some meaningful work. I do credit the product with giving me a profound jolt and I continue to use it religiously as of this writing and plan to keep up its use indefinitely. I now apply On for Him twice daily – once in the morning and again after dinner – and am extremely satisfied with the results. I’m losing weight, exercising more, eating better, and having more sex, all great things in my book and for that I give On for Him my highest recommendation.
